A fantastic charity. So worthwhile

I wish Winston's Wish would do more work with ABC's (Adults Bereaved in Childhood). I am thirty-five, I lost my Dad at age 10 and was horrifically affected by it. I never had any support, it just wasn't there. I feel so much resonance listening to these girls for the first time, because it's exactly how I felt, except I was alone through it. ABC's are the legacy inheritors of the grief that Winstons Wish work with but there aren't any charities that help people like me. It's like you either get the help at the time or you don't and you're on your own, like your right to grief support expires. I can't relate to people bereaved later in life. But I felt everything these girls said. It would be good to have a place where other ABC's could talk and support each other.

For Mother’s Day I went to my moms grave it was a hard one

These are all true. I’ve been grieving because of my bird’s death and I’ve been told to get over it by my parents but I never have. It’s been 4 years and I still haven’t gotten over it. But you’re right, grief is not something you can just ‘get over’ straight away. It takes a LOT of time
